Fall 1986...in Rokkenjima, a private island owned by Kinzou Ushiromiya, eleven of his relatives arrive for a family reunion. He is dying and children want nothing more than to split the wealth he will leave behind. But as a storm traps them on the island, the riddle of Rokkenjima's legendary golden witch begins to take the lives of several people. Who can solve the riddle and gain the gold & the inheritance? Will the golden witch truly revive?

Twisted relationships that are concerned with the dam construction in Hinamizawa, and the stories of the curse of "Oyashiro-sama" that takes root in this area. What waiting for them is a tragedy, or else...?
This manga adapts Hinamizawa Teiryūjo, the unreleased stage play that Ryukishi07 wrote and eventually tranformed into the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni game/anime/live-action franchise.

Shion hears rumors about how Mizuho's grandmother is after Mizuho's life and the girl is taking refuge in the school, so Shion approaches the aloof Mizuho.

Himatsubushi-hen is both a direct prequel and a direct sequel to Tatarigoroshi-hen. In contrast to the first three chapters, this chapter is shown through the eyes of Mamoru Akasaka, a young police investigator from Tokyo who comes to Hinamizawa in order to investigate a kidnapping of a politician's grandchild. Soon, he too becomes implicated into the mysteries of Hinamizawa. This chapter focuses on Rika Furude as being the key part of the mystery.

In Minagoroshi-hen, the mastermind of the murders was revealed. This time, all the pieces of the puzzle are in place. The last step for the characters to take is putting the pieces together in order to defeat the culprit, obtain the miracle, and break through the barrier of June 1983. Matsuribayashi-hen is a "Good End" in which no major deaths occur.

Beatrice is dead, her soul shattered by Battler at her own request. Though her body sits across the chessboard, she is no more than a husk of the laughing, impulsive witch she once was. Lambdadelta is more than happy to preside over the fifth game, and Bernkastel willingly steps in for Battler as he takes his leave to collect his thoughts. But two witches can cause all manner of mischief when left to their own devices, especially when they care as little for rules as Lambdadelta...

On the surface, Minagoroshi-hen is the solution to Tatarigoroshi-hen; however, it answers most of the major common mysteries of the previous arcs. It is told from the perspective of Rika Furude. Most notably, the true identity of the murderer is finally revealed in Minagoroshi-hen. After Minagoroshi-hen, one more effort is needed to seal the story into a happy ending

Solution to Onikakushi-hen. Unlike Meakashi-hen, Tsumihoroboshi-hen's story is drastically different from the plot of its Question arc. In Tsumihoroboshi-hen, Rena experiences a situation similar to Keiichi's in Onikakushi-hen, as she makes a terrible mistake and becomes distrustful of her former friends. It is the first chapter with a (seemingly) happy ending, although some tips reveal a sinister twist.

Hirukowashi-hen is based on Higurashi Daybreak. The main characters are Keiichi Maebara and Rika Furude, and this story is set in a parallel world. One day, Rena accidentally swallows something in her mouth during her usual treasure hunting. According to Rika, the seal of the sacred "Fuwarazu Magatama" pairs were broken and Rena must have accidentally swallowed one of them. The magatama holds mysterious magical powers in which a person that has the red magatama will blindly fall in love with anyone with the white magatama.

In Onisarashi-hen, a former resident of Hinamizawa named Natsumi is introduced, and her life after the Hinamizawa disaster is explored.

A year had passed since Natsumi's family moved to this city. Natsumi became acquainted with her new life, surrounded by friends as they went home together peacefully every day.
However, the news streamed through the television one day would change her fate substantially. A toxic gas disaster had occurred at a rural village. Furthermore, the village that got caught in the disaster was the one that Natsumi's family used to live in. Shocked by the incident, Natsumi's grandmother told her "this is Oyashiro-sama's curse'. What is this "Oyashiro-sama's curse" that grandmother is speaking of...?
The event marked the beginning of grandmother's eccentric behavior. A dissonant tone within the family indeed. As the calmness becomes concealed with each passing day, the uncertainties in Natsumi's life begin to appear...
