Atori and Ruu lives at a shrine abandoned by its deity. Ruu can see the chains of attachment that ties a person down, and Atori can cut that chain.

Karasuma Kaei is the only son of the Karasuma family. After his father and the butler who had been taking care of the household for as long as he can remember vanish without a word one day, it falls to him to deal with the main house, its new butler, and the myriad problems that accompany them.
