An encounter between a kitsune who runs an udon stall and a man who sells tofu. When the man compliments the deliciousness of the udon, the stall owner is so ecstatic that the tail he was hiding pops out in "The Kitsune's Udon." Additionally, there are four other illustrated tales with tengu, dragons and the likeーtales of relationships between ayakashi and humans.

Sasame is a police officer who, to the eyes of other people, seems to just be talking to himself. However the truth is entirely different.

Fran used to engage in murders and robberies. He now shows remorse for those illegal dealings, and works as a sheriff in a small town. He lost his pony and wanders in the wilderness asking himself, “Is this a return of my past misdeeds?”
